I want this programme to give vulnerable families more than temporary shelter. It is about handing over a permanent home that can become the foundation for a more secure future.

The project

Each £7,000 project funds a robust family home in Afghanistan, designed for local conditions with sleeping space, a kitchen and a washroom. The project is intended for a vulnerable family without stable or safe shelter.

How delivery works

A vulnerable family is selected against documented housing need.

Contributions are held until the full £7,000 project cost is raised.

The home is built for local conditions, typically within 10-14 weeks after full funding and site confirmation.

The completed home is handed to the family for permanent use.

AKF receives a completion report, photographs and available longer-term updates.

Expected benefit

A safe home for an estimated 6-10 family members.
Daily protection, privacy and stability.
A building intended to provide benefit for 25 years or more, subject to conditions and maintenance.

Sadaqah eligibility

This programme accepts Sadaqah and is suitable for Sadaqah Jariyah. It is not offered as a Zakat project.
