Why this programme matters

Young people today are growing up under intense pressure. Across the UK, many are facing a mix of poor mental wellbeing, low physical activity, school disengagement and exposure to violence. In too many communities, the absence of safe, structured opportunities leaves young people without the support, routine and positive role models they need to thrive.

The AK Academy responds to that need through boxing, fitness and mentoring. More than a gym, it is a disciplined environment where young people can train, build confidence and develop resilience. The programme is active in Bolton, Peterborough and Islamabad, and is described by AKF as an alternative to knife crime, obesity and exclusion, delivered by fully qualified and DBS-checked instructors.

This is an ongoing programme rooted in consistency, challenge and opportunity. By combining physical training with guidance and community support, the Academy helps young people develop healthier habits, stronger self-belief and a more positive direction for the future.
